INNA SIMAKOVSKY - Attorney
Ms. Simakovsky emigrated from the former Soviet Union in 1976. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1993 with a degree in International Studies. She graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the Mortiz College of Law at Ohio State University in 1998 and was admitted to the Washington State Bar. Ms. Simakovsky practiced law in Washington state in California until 2004 when she returned to Columbus, Ohio.
From 2004 through 2007, Ms. Simakovsky supervised the largest non-profit immigration services provider in Columbus. Under her direction, the department increased its funding through local and national grants as well as private funding and implemented a law student internship program that included ten law students in the summer of 2006. Ms. Simakovsky also started immigration programs at the Economic and Community Development Institute in Columbus, Ohio and Asian Services in Action in Cleveland, Ohio.
Ms. Simakovsky was of counsel with Peterson, Ellis, Fergus and Peer from 2007 through 2011, practicing solely in the area of immigration law.
Ms. Simakovsky is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), the oldest international migration and refugee resettlement agency in the U.S. located in New York. She is also a past member of the advisory board of Catholic Legal Immigration Network (CLINIC), a national immigrant advocacy organization located in Washington D.C. Locally, Ms. Simakovsky is a past member of the Ohio Literacy Network and is often a speaker on immigration topics across Central Ohio.
Ms.Simakovsky is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Washington State Bar Association. She is also admitted to practice before all federal immigration courts and before the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. Simakovsky represents clients before Immigration, the asylum office, and in Immigration Court. Her immigration practice focuses on all areas of immigration including family based, removal and business immigration. She is currently very involved with immigrant communities in the Central Ohio area and resides in Bexley, Ohio with her husband and three sons.

AMY CROSSIN - Attorney
Attorney Amy M. Crossin is the most recent addition to Simakovsky Law. Her practice focuses on Immigration and related family, education, and consumer law issues. She graduated cum laude from Savannah Law School in 2015. Ms. Crossin completed her undergraduate work at Antioch College (2001) and holds an M.A. in education from the Ohio State University (2005).
She previously worked as a consumer defense litigator and in federal financial compliance. Ms. Crossin served as a teacher for Columbus City Schools from 2001 - 2012. Her passion for working with immigrant families and the deportation of the father of one her students inspired her to go to law school. Ms. Crossin speaks, reads, and writes Spanish with intermediate proficiency.
Her publications include "Due Process: Overdue for SSI" (Savannah Law Review, vol. 2, no. 2) and "DACA Update" (La Voz Latina in Georgia). Ms. Crossin is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Ohio State Bar Association, and the American Inn of Courts.

LILIANA VASQUEZ - Attorney
Ms. Vasquez is a native El Pasoan and first generation Mexican-American. She graduated from the University of Texas, El Paso in 2011 and from the Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law in 2015. While at Moritz, she was the Vice President of the Latino Law Student Association and Business Editor of the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution.
Growing up in the border city of El Paso, the shortcomings over the immigration system became readily apparent to her, sparking an interest in immigration law. This led her to a position clerking at Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center and the Paso Del Norte Civil Rights Projects.

LAUREN POWERS - Operations Manager
Lauren joined Simakovsky Law in 2014. After graduating from a small midwestern liberal arts college and taking several trips abroad, Lauren returned to Columbus to be close to family.
At Simakovsky Law, Lauren enjoys working directly with clients to help them navigate their immigration process. She helps clients organize their documents and understand the specific details of their immigration process as well as answer any questions.
